I went to Suraja for treating my tennis elbow that I had been having for over a year. Initially I had it in one arm and then with COVID and bad work habits had gotten to my right arm as well. My primary care had recommended steroid shots and I decided acupuncture over chiropractic treatment (wanted a treatment that impacted it directly and hopefully faster!). This was my first time with acupuncture and was absolutely skeptical about the treatment and the overall effect. For me the results have been AMAZING AND UNREALl!. I did a total of 6 sessions in all and its been about 6 months now and I am completely pain-free. The sessions are painless as well and a great opportunity to completely relax. I was experiencing pain and swelling in my right knee, due to acute arthritis. On my visit to Boston, I had two acupuncture sessions with Suraja at Crossing Point Acupuncture in Lexington. After just two sessions, the swelling in my knee almost vanished and I was able to take a two mile walk, pain-free. 'It appears the Chinese Herbs did their job. I passed what I thought was a blood clot Sunday night as it was black and soft. When the cystoscopy was done, there was no stone. I can only surmise that the herbs softened up the stone allowing it to pass. I still needed a stent for a few days due to the swelling. But now things are good. No more pain and feeling much better.

"I was experiencing increasing headaches mainly right-sided headaches spreading to bilateral temple areas, being pulsating in nature with visual phenomenon blurriness. I found Suraja after getting an intense pain in my shoulder with radiating numbness to my fingers. She took a very thorough history of the situation, and remembered my particular ailments and details at every visit. I have suffered from IBS and GI issues for many year. The past 2 years I had a severe chronic pain episode in my abdomen and rectal area. I went to numerous doctors, had countless tests, and even had a surgery to help stop the pain. Nothing helped. My son (now 14 year old) started thinking about the possibility of acupuncture when he was 12 years old. The idea of needles did not sound appealing to him at all but he’s been suffering from environmental allergies for many years. He does a lot of outdoor sports that worsened his allergies. His main motivation to get rid of them was so he could be around one of his best friends’ dogs who sheds a lot. He gathered the courage and started with acupuncture. From the age of 10 I have been short sighted. After my cataract surgery at age 65 and due to my severe myopia I suffered a scar in my left retina with bleeding inside the eye. I also have been diagnosed as having wet macular degeneration. I needed to get a Lucentis injection inside the eye to stop the leak and arrest further deterioration of vision. I had to go to the eye hospital every month for a scan followed by the injection. I have had five such injections so far. Dr. Suraja Roychowdhury has given me two courses of ten sittings of Acupuncture. She had also prescribed some Chinese herb tablets - which I have been regularly having since a year and half.
I went for my check up first week of May ( I had finished a course of Acupuncture with Dr. Suraja- In April). I was over joyed and relieved when the Doctor in the hospital after examining my eye and after a OCT scan told me the bleed in my eye had dried up well and I needed to go only after six months! ​Suraja has a warm and professional manner. She did a thorough interview and analysis to discover what my needs were and to determine the appropriate approach. During the treatment, she explained what she was doing and made sure I was comfortable. The help I most needed was with pain, swelling, and stiffness in my knee due to a torn meniscus and arthritis. When I walked out of Suraja's house after the first treatment, there was no pain or stiffness. I highly recommend Dr. Roychowdhury for her excellent Acupuncture service! I had a tooth inflammation and the sharp pain spread to multiple teeth and my left jaw. After Dr. Roychowdhury gave me Acupunture on a few points for 30 minutes, the effect was dramatic. My teeth felt not mine at all but the pain was gone. Very amazing and strange! After I came home (maybe 30 minutes), the soft pain came back but only to the surface of my teeth for a few hours and then totally gone after that. I am fine now without any medication, with just one Acupuncture treatment from Dr. Roychowdhury!. She is amazing!

I went to the Dr.'s place to take the acupuncture after I suffering the severe toothache for around ten days. I have been to two dentist's office. The two dentists both told me that there was no problem on my teeth. The one of the dentists suspected that the pain is Neurogia. Then I took a grain of the pain killer IC OXYCODONE-ACETAMINOPHEN 5-325，The pain had gone. I went to the Dr. place to take the acupuncture after I took the painkiller for three hours. I felt no pain when I took the acupuncture. I have no pain since then. It has been over five days. I didn't take any more painkiller again. I don't feel pain from the teeth area now. I really appreciate the Dr. She gave me a great help.

I was training for my first marathon and had an ankle injury during the training. Could not run and was stressed that I would not be able to train. Saw Suraja and she did her needle magic on my ankle...frankly was not a believer in alternative therapy but can vouch for it now based on my personal experience. Eye doctor checked my eye glasses and my eye sight was 20/400. He tested my eye sight with my glasses and I had
trouble seeing lines He was a bit puzzled. I explained what we have been doing and wanted a fresh eye test. He ( me too) were shocked, I now have 20/40 !!!! I can read the entire line. He was pretty stuned by the changed. I was not able to read the 20/20 lines. I have never been able to do that. We didn't try the 20/30 and I wished we did. My cardiologist at MGH suggested I consult Suraja before my scheduled back surgery. Four years prior, I’d had a fusion of L3/L4 for herniated discs and stenosis. (I suffer from osteoarthritis). I was scheduled, last Nov, for a full fusion of my lumbar spine due to herniated discs above and below the fusion and another severe stenosis. I was in a good deal of pain and disability. I teased my doctor for suggesting acupuncture as she knows I come from a medical family; my father was a physician in NYC and my mother and sister were nurses. We believe in medication and surgery, not acupuncture! She shrugged, smiled and said that acupuncture has been around for centuries and it worked for her. I was pretty desperate and the thought of such extensive surgery was frightening. So, I went to see Suraja. Her office is private and welcoming. Suraja has studied in India and at the NE School of Acupuncture where she learned techniques from Japan and China. She teaches classes and takes classes to learn new procedures, so she is extremely knowledgeable. She’s also very caring, sensitive, and has a wonderful sense of humor. I was in a lot of pain, couldn’t walk, sit, lie down.. no position was comfortable! I saw Suraja every other week for several months and symptoms completely abated! Subsequently, I canceled surgery! I am not in any pain (a slight twinge now and then if I garden too much). I can walk for miles with my dog without suffering later. I don’t need prescription pain meds anymore, just occasional Tylenol. . Subsequently, I canceled surgery. I keep monthly appointments with Suraja because with osteoarthritis I have pain flare ups in various joints off and on. She treats these with needles and cupping. The results still surprise me. I highly recommend Suraja. I had been told by two orthopedic surgeons that there was no other option other than surgery. There is!

Suraja was there for me the same day when I started experiencing excruciating sciatica pain. I could barely function at work and Suraja was there to help alleviate my pain. I have been suffering from urinary problems for a few years with difficulty initiating a stream, which was poor and could not evacuate the bladder in one go. Lately I was also suffering from pain while urinating. My urologist told me to get a laser surgery of the prostate and take a pill a day that would improve the symptoms but would affect my libido. So I gave acupuncture a try and had Suraja treat me for a few weekly sessions and then get a treatment off and on for maintenance. "I had never had acupuncture. I decided to try acupuncture for treating Morton's neuroma on my right foot that I was having for 7 months and could not wear any shoes and walk normally with having pain. 2 doctors I visited for the opinion offered me 2 completely different surgeries without 100% warantee. So I was at a loss what needs to be done.Thanks God I found Suraja at Crossing Point Acupuncture. After trying different techniques during several sessions pain went away a little then got back but with less pain. Now I can say that little by little it went away 90%. “I, like many was very skeptical about acupuncture. My western brain couldn’t wrap itself around concepts of Chi, meridians, energy fields, and those needles. As we say in our tribe. I suffer from a severe case of spinal stenosis and affiliated migraine headaches. I also battle arthritis in both shoulders. After a long and very physical military career, I arrived at the point where I can’t remember a day when I wasn’t in significant pain. In order to improve my functionality and quality of life, I pursued research on acupuncture. I finally mustered the courage to try something new while avoiding the use of pain medication. After exploring local acupuncturist and Chinese herbal medicine options, I chose Suraja because of the depth of her education, certifications, and pristine recommendations. I am blessed for this choice. Suraja is the consummate caring professional. Frankly, she has changed my life. After some initial skepticism, I am now a living testimony to the benefits of acupuncture, provided in a positive and supportive environment. Acupuncture has significantly reduced my shoulder and back pain, improved blood flow, and eliminated my migraines. Suraja Roychowdhury is extremely trustworthy and caring. My time spent at Crossing Point Acupuncture was extremely enjoyable and helpful. I came in to see Dr. Roychowdhury because I was suffering from social anxiety, lower back pain and a pelvic floor dysfunction. I chose Crossing Point because the location was private; the cozy setup and the lack of a corporate style waiting room helped to put my mind at ease. Within the first few appointments I noticed I was more relaxed and the tension in my lower back area had decreased significantly. I have had arthritis for about 30 years. I had acupuncture a few years ago, it became much better but still bothers me, especially during winter. Last winter, decided to get treatment. I found Suraja on line and was treated for four times. Her treatment was very effective and unique. I felt better each time after the treatment. She has different treatment each time based on my symptom. Now I can barely feel the discomfort.
I would recommend her for someone with chronical pain. She is excellent at what she does and is very kind, gentle, and easy-going.

I recently was shoveling (what a winter, eh) my driveway and felt a sharp pain in my left lower back. I hobbled into my garage and had to call my wife to remove my shoes. The pain was THAT bad. I went to my bedroom and lied down on my bed and could not move at all. Could not getup, roll over ..nothing at all!!! The pain was excruciating. Dr. Suraja Roychowdhury came over and administered acupuncture and I was able to sit up by the end of the treatment. Next morning I was able to walk around the house and 2 treatments later (over 10 days) I am back to normal. Ready to go shovel again :)
This sounds like magic AND it felt almost so. And I didn't have to go to the ER... I am a big fan of Crossing Point Acupuncture and would recommend it to anyone.

Suraja is an amazing acupuncturist who I have experienced first hand and can testify to her amazing treatments. When I first met Suraja, there was such a nice demeanor to her in addition to her great personality. She took a history of what my issues were and then came up with a treatment plan that was so effective for me. I injured my back severely 4 years ago, went to Physical Therapy (which was not effective), and then my doctor stated that the next step would be cortisone shots. I was not opened to trying these shots and someone suggested trying acupuncture. I am so glad I listened and tried acupuncture because I am pain free!
When Suraja started treating me, her technique was impeccable and I would leave there with no pain. Imagine no pain! Suraja’s treatment style would be different each week but similar in many ways. My appointments with Suraja are now for maintenance rather than pain. I strongly recommend Suraja wholeheartedly as your acupuncturist.

I was diagnosed with rosacea and my cheeks were flushed and red with acne. Also, my hands and feet were very cold (weather unrelated), and I was under a lot of stress. When I discussed my health concerns with Suraja, she advised that acupuncture might be a good starting point to relieve stress which could be aggravating some of my symptoms. I did acupuncture therapy sessions with Suraja for several weeks(approximately 10 treatment sessions). Each session was about 30 minutes long. Her approach is very patient and accommodating and she takes the time to explain her treatments and answer questions. Her needle insertion technique is very precise and painless. My symptoms of stress and cold hands and feet started resolving by about 6 treatments; the rosacea, for which I had started taking other medication, also improved significantly, possibly as a result of the combined effects of medication and acupuncture. Overall I was very satisfied with the experience and would highly recommend her as an acupuncturist.
